I think that if they want the opportunity and decide to take me up on the offer, it will only benefit them in the long run. I am glad to see that you found a great program for yourself. ReplyDeleteHi Sammy, I recently joined this agency and yesterday attended a very well delivered presentation on the programme and o inevitable expectations of embarking on such a journey. However, bizarrely though once the presentation concluded I was pulled aside by an uknown individual also in attendace and warned of the disingenuousness of this agecy, now im in confusion. Can you vouch for them? is the organisation for real? were you on the long term programme, and if so how good was the agency in supporting you?? please help would be really appreciated : )
ReplyDeleteWhich agency are you talking about Mr Anonymous? This article is about a teaching organisation called Xuelite, it's not an agency. All I can say is that I think Xuelite is the best. I've been working here for 5 months and they give you a great salary, loads of time to travel and it feels like a family company, everyone knows everyone and there is a wonderful buzz in the air. Not like any of the other training schools ive worked for.

ReplyDeleteI was really pleased to find your blog. I would love to teach english abroad because I think it will be rewarding as well as a great way to travel while earning some money. I went onto the website but I didnt see anywhere that I could contact the company. I do not have teaching experience other than teaching dance at university. I have a degree in contemporary history and Im a restaurant manager so teaching is not in my background. Id love to work in China and have extended time there. Do you know how I can make contact with them?

Sorry, Im refering to the agency run by Arnold Vis which you mentioned in a previous article. I fairly confident this guy may be mistaken, but I would rather try to reduce any risk of anything, if any risk exists at all. if you could help me with this I'd really appreciate it.

ReplyDeleteWhat I would suggest is that you get a tefl certificate if you want to teach in china. It doesnt matter if this is a real life tefl course or just one of the groupon ones you can do online. What matters is you have a certificate that says tefl next to your name, thats all they care about in China. If you do this you will find it much easier to find a job and your salary may also go up. When would you look to start working in china? Visas take a long time. As for Xuelite. I can have a talk with my manager to see if they would like to hire you and sponser your visa.

ReplyDeleteArnold Vis seems to be the real deal, I came to China using his service and paid only the deposit of £180 which was refunded 5 weeks after I arrived. Don't pay for anything because if you pay for an agency to set you up with a job, you are being ripped off!
